Chief Offenders Combine For Goal Which Ends Champions League Dreams [Video]

We’re crashing out of the Champions League and it is nothing to do with our attacking injuries.

It is nothing to do with Jose Mourinho’s tactics either. What can he do when senior defenders make awful mistakes so frequently?

Hugo Lloris helped the ball in for Marcel Sabitzer’s opener tonight, and was partially to blame for the goal which made it 3-0 on aggregate, as he was beaten at his near post by a header from the same player.

But the main culprit for Leipzig’s second was another chief offender – Serge Aurier. The Ivorian haplessly jumped under the ball to allow Angelino the freedom of the left flank from where to pick out Sabitzer’s run.

It is the type of error in judgement we have seen from him so many times. And Lloris’s mistakes are clocking up again too. Getting sick of both of them.

Jose’s tactical decisions are very questionable if you try and defend with players that can’t defend…

Yes Aurier has zero defensive capacity, but you can be organized and have an intent to affect the game. Playing this way with these players is suicide…
