Mourinho: “Impossible” To Repeat 5-0 Burnley Rout [video]

Jose Mourinho has admitted it will be “impossible” for Tottenham to repeat December’s 5-0 thrashing of Burnley when we visit Turf Moor tomorrow.

Our attacking options have become badly depleted since then, with three of the goalscorers from that day – Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko – ruled out of the trip to Lancashire.

But Mourinho told his pre-match press conference that we must continue to find ways to score in the absence of our top marksmen (certainly not classing Sissoko in this category, to be clear).

Despite not always appearing offensively dangerous, scoring goals actually hasn’t been a major problem since Son joined Kane on the sidelines.

We’ve only blanked once in our last seven games in all competitions, and scored two or more goals in four of those outings.

But forget 5-0. I’ll take a 1-0 right now to get us back to winning ways.

It’s time to stop all this bleating about injuries. All clubs have them and some have been hampered more than us this season,Norwich being a case in point.
However the real issue is lack of squad depth which would allow for proper rotation of players. We all know where the blame lies for this situation.
Levy is always quick to point out how much money the ENIC project generates, but is very quiet on why so little of it is invested back into the team.I wonder why that is,could it be that his position on that is indefensible?
