15 Goals In 137 Games: Foyth’s Transfer Tip Is As Naff As He Is [opinion + video]

With over 550 non-playing staff at Tottenham having been unfortunately furloughed, some players may start having to pull double duty.

Harry Winks could help with catering – he’s a skilful tea maker.

Eric Dier could do the groundwork – he’s become a keen gardener.

Let’s just hope Juan Foyth doesn’t end up in charge of the scouting team.

In an interview with his native TNT via Instagram, the Argentine was asked to recommend a possible signing to join him at Tottenham and chose 22-year-old winger Lucas Rodriguez from his former club Estudiantes.

Rodriguez, nicknamed ’Titi’, has an uninspiring record of 15 goals and eight assists in 137 career games, and a healthy portion of those came during a loan spell in the playground that is the MLS.

Even the usually evergreen medium of a YouTube compilation video can’t polish him up.

Titi’s only endearing quality appears to be that he’s Foyth’s mate, although that transfer policy might not be any worse than our current one.

It is a good article, but I don’t think footballers have been labelled ‘villains’ like Townsend stated. Clubs like ENIC FC and Newcastle have been rightly vilified for their stance of the furloughing of wages. I didn’t associate any Spurs players or Newcastle’s with what Levy and Ashley were spewing out. Footballers are in the public eye and could assist by taking a pay cut, but so could high earning business and finance leaders, so I agree with Andros in that. Hancock chose an easy target because highlighting business would not have sat well in the halls of Westminster. Just a shame no one has raised the actions of Branson, now there is a rat that Levy would get on with.

Swap him for Marcus. He’s averaging 7.3 out there in his first season. I’ll tell you again. That boy can attack. Put him on a big pitch. Sing his name. Surrounded him with quality and that boy will be dangerous. Wicked man baller he will be. Marcus. Keep working hard on your fkng attitude. I know you’ve got the pitch bit covered.

Off topic, there is a very interesting article by Andros Townsend on the Guardian, free to view on the Web, it gives a footballers view on the wage cut issue and is a very thoughtful response by Andros, there is a lot more to this than the players just rushing to accept a cut, have a look if you can.
