Youngster linked with Tottenham and Arsenal set to be made available – Spurs must try and sign him

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been linked with a number of players ahead of the transfer window, however, none has really been as exciting as the prospect of landing Max Aarons from Norwich.

The young Englishman is one of the top players in the Canaries team that has struggled with life back in the Premier League.

Norwich is firmly rooted in the relegation zone and taking a look at the tough fixtures that they have before this season ends, on top of the thrashing at the hands of Arsenal tonight, makes them destined for Championship football next season.

Some of their players have impressed in the Premier League though and they may well be sold once they get relegated and one of such player in Aarons.

Talk Sport claims that the right-back is valued at £30m and Norwich would still look to make that much money off his sale if they do get relegated.

Spurs really have to try and sign Aarons because if they don’t it’s almost certain that a Premier League rival would do.

One such rival is Arsenal and Talk Sport are also claiming that the Gunners are interested in signing the 20-year-old, along with Man Utd.

Arsenal are suffering just as much as Spurs in the financial department and they have tied down Cedric Soares to a long term deal (The Metro) and so may not put up as much of a fight for the Norwich youngster as much as Spurs may.

We are currently banking on the unreliable Serge Aurier as Japhet Tanganga is out until next season.

Aarons would represent an upgrade to Aurier and looks like a better full-back when compared to Tanganga. If Spurs are serious about mounting a title challenge next season, Aarons is the kind of player that they cannot afford to miss out on signing.

I’d rather go for Cantwell. Not in the same position, I know, but he’s a real talent and I think we’d get him cheap when they get relegated.

If we were to sign him, I imagine he’ll have a similar impact next season to what Sessegnon has this season.

Woah…..……where did this come from Bruce?
“If Spurs are serious about mounting a title challenge next season”

Not even Happy McClapper expects that.

Anyway this lad is good – get him tight purse.

He will be a good player one day that boy. Still a bit a work to do though. He’s still young. He’s got it in him.
