“Without Kane by his side, Son Heung-min looked like a passenger” Journalist accuses Son of looking lost

By Bruce Grove -

Son Heung-min has been accused of relying on Harry Kane to deliver for Tottenham.

The South Korean has formed a productive partnership with the Englishman this season as they lead the Tottenham team in goals.

Son has been a major goal contributor for the club, which has helped them to stop relying solely on Kane.

But the attacker has been assisted by Kane for most of his goals this season, and now that the England captain is out with injury, he is struggling.

Mail Sport’s Sam McEvoy was previewing the game against Chelsea and one of the points he foucussed on was Son’s struggle in the absence of his partner in crime.

He said the attacker couldn’t do anything in his last game against Brighton because he lacked the support from Kane even though he had Gareth Bale to lean on.

Bale was not useful, and the Welshman was hauled off at halftime.

McEvoy writes: “Draws against Fulham and Wolves were disappointing but their home defeat to a struggling Liverpool side, who were winless in five, saw Spurs lose ground in the title race while talisman Kane injured both his ankles in the process.

“Now without his main man to orchestrate attacks, Mourinho is missing a big piece to his offensive puzzle and it was clear to see during Spurs’ dire loss at the Amex.

“Without Kane by his side, Son Heung-min looked like a passenger against the Seagulls and made little to no impact while Gareth Bale looked uninspired before being taken off at half-time.

“The majority of Son’s goals this season have been the result of a Kane assist and without him, the South Korean superstar looks lost.”
