“With pleasure” Spurs Ace Gives Poch A Handy Boost In Respect Of Potential Exciting PSG Move

By The Boy -

This week, Mauricio Pochettino has been undoubtedly basking – yet again – in the media attention surrounding his next possible role, which the bookies certainly believe will be French Giants, Paris St. Germain. New moves usually equate to a whole heap of change; and whilst Dele Alli has been widely tipped to be one of Poch’s first signings, our former gaffer will surely be buzzing at the thought of current Tottenham ace Serge Aurier joining his new ranks at PSG.

The Sun carry quotes from the Ivorian that suggest our right back bad boy could be rather happy to join the Argentinian, should this much mooted managerial move take place. With talk of the well aged Lionel Messi also being open to a PSG move, the overwhelming conclusion is that should Mauricio get the job, he will have to work hard to avoid the whole thing degenerating into an A-Team sketch.

As I’ve made very clear on numerous occasions, I wish Poch well. However, I’ll be stunned if he is successful, yet that must not be confused with me wishing him ill.

Well, a successful result for Poch’s CV is being able to point to a league title so the move makes a lot of sense for him.

As said above with millions spent on players success is purely measured in terms of winning the CL where the bitter irony for Poch is that we lost to Liverpool in the CL final!

Oh you are a cynic. You are missing the point. Turning him into a world class full back Liverpool bought amazing Andy Robertson from Hull City. Yes Hull City. We should be so lucky to have full backs as good as Andy Robertson which we don’t!

What is “success” at PSG ? The French league is minimum. I would say only success he can claim would be the CL. I don’t think PSG will win it with any manager.

How can he not be successful in that two Bob league. In Europe he’ll be Neil Lennon. I don’t care how he does to be honest. If he wants to come back to my club he’ll have to show me more than a French league cup

Ligue Un is more or less a one team league, so it’ll be hard for Mauricio not be successful at PSG.

I am old enough to remember some wonderful Liverpool full backs of the past in Emlyn Hughes and Chis Lawler me thinks!
Spurs were blessed with 2 good uns in Joe Kinnear and Cyril Knowles.

There’s something intangible about Robertson’s importance to this team beyond his outstanding footballing ability, in that he perfectly epitomises the collective mentality that makes them such a formidable beast. Not only is he technically excellent, he has the gritty determination to run himself into ground and leave absolutely everything on the pitch for the cause every time he plays. He might be the best player in the world in his position, but he remains remarkably humble and grounded, never satisfied with what he’s already achieved, always looking for ways to improve.

…”He’s not just a phenomenal overlapping full-back who’ll get to the byline and whip a wicked ball into the box; he’ll happily step infield and drive forward through central areas when the opportunity presents itself. He can pick out a teammate with a pin-point cross or cut-back, but he’ll also play neat, rapid one-touch passing combinations in and around the edge of the box, while also possessing the ability to switch the play in an instant with a raking 60-yard pass to Alexander-Arnold or Salah on the opposite side”.
[Alas it ain’t Aurier but majestic full back Andy Robertson]
