Will Mourinho Deliver or will it be more of the same at Spurs this season? [video]

By The Boy -

Will Jose Mourinho be able to work his second-year magic at Tottenham in the 2020-21 Premier League season? ESPN FC’s Ian Darke, Craig Burley and Shaka Hislop discuss Tottenham’s fall from a rising club under Mauricio Pochettino to a mid-table side.

Darke believes Spurs had a hangover from the Champions League and could bounce back this year. Hislop thinks Mourinho’s managerial style will turn off some of Tottenham’s biggest stars like Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Hislop obviously hasn’t watched any of the Amazon series. Personally, I fined the whole idea of attempting to second guess how anyone will perform, be it a coach or otherwise to be an exercise in futility.

“Hislop obviously hasn’t watched any of the amazon series” exactly. Press press press. No sitting back on a two nil up. Not one of the haters mentioned that (obviously)

Key phrase I heard; “No expectations”. Just as with last season, I reckon we’ll have some idea of how this season will pan out after around 10 matches.

Winning the Ropey league is a big ask with a shallow squad still. We start the season with 9 matches in 22 days possibly and during that time we cannot afford any injuries. The odds aren’t good.

I will just be happy with Reguilon and a good striker, and let Jose pick the centre halfs.

A back up striker plus a first choice left back and the sky could be the limit, especially if either (or both) Alli and Ndombele can find their best form.

Shame Lo Celso is out for the start of the season again though. Injuries could have a massive say.

I’d be happy if we signed Reguilon and Japhat and Sanchez were out first choice CBs

Our 1st 11 is still more than decent and if Ndombele, Sess or Fernandes could make the breakthrough we might surprise a few people. Lord save us we need another decent striker though to have any chance.

Daka has said he’s staying he is happy and wants to develop at RedBull Salzburg,he won’t be coming even we offered to double his wages. We still have five centre halfs on the books Kim Min-Jae is not a priority. Spurs are trying to sign Reguilon,Jose has made contact,it’s up to the player now.

I missed this talk but I must admit I did find their discussion on bringing peace to the Middle East fascinating. Next up is their musings on ending Covid-19 . Unmissable imho.

Unless a tune can be got out of N’Dombele expectations will rightly be low. Eriksen may not have got us over the line in terms of winning a cup but now we do not even have his creativity.

It will be the same as always, nothing to show for lack of investment, unless Levy signs, Daka, Kim Min-Jae and Reguilon we might as well not bother we know what will happen. Big window for Levy and co.

Kane seems to be staying for another season under Jose and Dele’s performances have improved in the pre-season games. Sorry Shaka, does not compute. Might be ambitious to believe that we will win the league this season but we should give ourselves a chance in the three cup competitions. Wining the Ropey would give us a CL spot next season, so league placement not so critical as long as it’s outside the bottom 3.
