Tottenham striker Troy Parrott, who is highly regarded within the club’s academy, has not yet been able to convince manager Ange Postecoglou of his abilities, according to The Mirror’s Darren Lewis.
Despite his talent and potential, Parrott has struggled to secure a place in Tottenham’s first team and has been loaned out to various English clubs to aid his development.
Lewis shared on the Last Word on Spurs podcast that there is uncertainty surrounding Parrott’s future and that Postecoglou may not be entirely convinced about him.
He said:
“Let’s not kid ourselves, you still have Troy Parrott and you still have Dane Scarlett, they look capable, but the suggestion is that it’s likely Troy will go out on loan again, I don’t know if Dane has been given a squad number yet.
The uncertainty around them suggests to me that maybe Ange isn’t certain about them, even though, to me, Troy looks like a good player.”
Parrott has shown promise during his loan spells, amassing a total of 47 career goals and 14 assists in 155 games so far.
There is no doubting the potential in the 21-year-old. He has been impressive in his loan spells.

Parrott’s future at Tottenham has been the subject of much speculation, with many fans and pundits eager to see him break into the first team.
The youngster can however take inspiration from Harry Kane, another academy product who has gone on to became Tottenham’s record goal scorer.
Kane, who also had a series of loan spells before making his mark in the first team, went on to become a legend at Tottenham, and Parrott will be hoping to emulate his success.
However, It remains to be seen whether Parrott will get the chance to make his mark at Tottenham with suggestions that the manager is uncertain about the young striker.
