‘When the time is right’ – Valencia manager discusses the future of Bryan Gil

By Eddie Razo -

Bryan Gil is at a good moment in his career one month into his loan stint with Valencia as he’s played a significant role in the Spanish side, clinching a spot in the Copa del Rey final against Real Betis.

Valencia wants to hold onto the 21-year-old past this June, but manager José Bordalás states that the La Liga club will be addressing the situation when the timing is right.

“As for Bryan, I have no knowledge of the situation,” Bordalás said to  Valencia’s official website. “My club know that I am focused on the competition and any movement will be communicated to me.”

“Right now, I don’t think anything is happening. It is true that Bryan is giving us a lot, but the possibility will be addressed when the time is right.”

Gil has plenty of potential as he’s showing with Valencia but did struggle to find his way with Tottenham after arriving this past summer from Sevilla. Despite leaving less than a year into his contract with Spurs, the club does view him as a part of the future, considering the loan deal.

Tottenham didn’t attach an option or an obligation to buy attached to the loan, so they want Gil back. Still, it will be interesting to see if either manager Antonio Conte or the young forward want a second attempt to make things work out.

Wouldn’t it be funny if he goes on loan and wins some silverware!
