A big game for Antonio Conte later this afternoon as his Spurs side hosts a Leeds outfit that has been both struggling on the road and finding goals difficult to come by at any ground.
Harry Kane’s explosive two games for England produced 7 goals and if all is right with the world, Kane’s comparatively pedestrian domestic form should be a thing of the past.
The big shake-up will be adjusting the backline to accommodate Cuti Romero’s absence.
So Conte doesn’t trust Ndombele to start.
Just don’t see any creativity in our midfield, it’s going to have be a crossing bonanza and hope somebody gets on the end of some. Defensively we’re all set up to concede. Let’s hope Conte has found the player in some of our bang average players.
Having just seen the team, the weakness in defence, in the absence of Romero, is positively frightening. A mid-table back three at best, plus Winks and Hojberg, leaves little expectation that we could possibly keep a clean sheet or create much of anything.
We can but hope that an infusion of Conte’s attitude and the benefits of the new fitness regimen (on those players who stayed for the two weeks break) plus a re-vitalised Harry Kane and Sonny, will be enough to do for a limited Leeds outfit with its own defensive frailties.
Davies & Winks 😳 When you see these names on the team sheet it brings home even more just how bad our squad is. Had Dele been on it I’m not sure if I could abstain from some kind of self harm.
Only then is something really is wrong?
I bet they score against us, everyone does, somebody will be caught dozing in out defence (allegedly a defence). Question is how many can we score at the other end? If Kane can’t score against a team that ship goals on the road, then something really is wrong.
