Improving the midfield is a priority for Tottenham Hotspur, and it seems as though they want to use the free transfer market to bring in a player.
Reports link FC Bayer Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso whose contract expires in June, to the north London-based club.
Furthermore, the Daily Mail reports that Tottenham currently leads the race to land Tolisso over the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus.
Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici has long admired the France international, who he tried to bring the 27-year-old to The Old Lady.
The report doesn’t detail the specifics as to why Tottenham is leading the race or what type of offer the Premier League side.
Nonetheless, if Spurs continue pursuing Tolisso, they need to consider the injury history that has plagued the midfielder since joining Bayern Munich.
Since joining the German giants in 2017, Tolisso has missed 84 games due to injury, per Transfermarkt. So if Tottenham lands Tolisso, they’ll have to find a way to keep him healthy and on the pitch.
I’d argue that our defence, midfield & attack are priorities due to the goal leaking, creative inefficiencies, and single off form striker who’d rather be elsewhere; respectively. Sorting this squad out looks to me like a two good summer windows job, minimum.
Hope I’ve no kloo wot I’m talkin abahht.
Injured most of the time so no point. got plenty of them already.
