What is it about Tottenham Hotspur and VAR?
There was another chaotic episode starring Spurs and the Premier League’s video referee during this afternoon’s 1-1 draw with Watford.
Dele Alli’s 86th-minute equaliser was subject to a review for handball, as Watford argued that he controlled the ball with his bicep before knocking it into a net vacated by culpable goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Referee Chris Kavanagh pointed to the centre spot to award the goal, but the big screen displayed ‘No Goal’ on the VAR graphic.

Cue major confusion inside Daniel Levy’s Tottenham mansion.
Now how’s this for a conspiracy?
beIN Sports pundit Richard Keys reckons that Kavanagh misheard the verdict from Stockley Park – that the goal in fact should not have stood – and was then too embarrassed to correct his mistake.
A VAR conspiracy theory from @richardajkeys! A refereeing mix-up handed Tottenham a late equaliser!#beINPL #TOTWAT pic.twitter.com/tcWiemqsui

I’d say ‘no chance’, but with the way VAR has been applied so far, you never know.
The Iconic moment that said everything……….
Sometimes all it takes is one picture or one moment to define a situation in a way that somehow crystallises the very essence of something that nothing else can. The reality of THFC was perfectly captured on camera yesterday when the Chairman of THFC was captured being chastised by his young daughter who was embarrassed that her father was appearing to show more interest in looking at his mobile phone than in watching the dire performance of his team. In that moment if there was any doubt whatever it was clear for the world to see that THFC is not a primary interest to the Chairman or to the owning company ENIC. The lack of respect, the lack of attention, the lack of spirit and passion in Pochettino and the players was manifest in what all the supporters who were in the stadium were watching and was manifest in that instant of time. It said all we need to know.No amount of PR spin can play down that one defining moment. Its over until ENIC and Levy leave THFC. Nothing of significance will change until that happens.
Hopefully this player will solve all the problems. At last some bravery in the market.😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😧
The comments section is still flaky, witness the previous blog.
This punt on Ferguson is right up Levy’s street,no way is this Poch’s decision,I doubt he’s even heard of him.Clarke should be a salutary lesson to Levy, but it won’t be.Whilst Poch is still here he won’t get a look in I suspect.
Regarding the Saudi bids for Utd,unfortunately these are the type of buyers who can make teams really competitive in the game today. With our history I don’t think we would want Arab owners, but ENIC have shown they have no concern about our past.Particularly our recent past where we have won fuck all. They will set the selling bar so high and wonder why there are no takers and by then we could be locked in midtable.
The Crown prince of Saudi Arabia has supposedly made an offer of 3 billion to buy Man Utd. I suspect the Glazers are sellers, it’s only a question of price now. They have squeezed all the blood they can suck out of Man Utd. I would hate for Spurs to be bought by Arabs or Russians, but it is the way of the world now. Even very wealthy individuals struggle to buy a Premier League club now.
With regards to Ferguson, he might be a good right back in a couple of years time but this is not what we need now, and it certainly smells of a Levy cheap purchase without proper regard to the present needs.
