Video Evidence: West Brom Tried To Disrupt Us But José’s Faith In This Spurs Ace Was Extremely Well Placed

This goal line save was one matter, but throughout the course of the game at West Brom on Sunday lunchtime, Eric Dier proved once more that he is far greater than the sum of his detractors. Recently we countered the frankly mindless abuse the Englishman had received from some fans online, which upon closer examination, lacked substance.

Looking at Dier’s other heading exploits, and we see that this was an authoritative performance.

More, please.

Nice one, I missed him out, he can head well. He’s only 5 foot 7 as well. Lucas ‘spring board legs’ Moura.

Jose likes him, he sees leadership in him, he sees someone willing to adapt (rather than die – see Alli)

Moura is surprisingly good for a man of his statue .

Dier certainly isn’t dire. Him and Kane and seemingly Bale can head the ball well. Everyone else leaves much to be desired when it comes to aerial threat defending or attacking.. Diers head is invaluable for us right now.

Dier has been great for us. A few minor blips but in general an excellent central defender. He’ll only get better under Jose too. A good influence and a leader by example.

Agreed.
The whole defensive unit has improved & Eric has started developing not only into a competent & confident CB, but also a strong vocal leader.
Like every other team they have the odd, momentary glitch but are mostly solid & resolute.
You can see the squad is collectively buying into José’s do or die, winning mentality.

Spot on H. Eric Dier was excellent yesterday and is much improved of late. Now that he is stably in partnership with a CB who knows how to defend, Alderweireld, as opposed to one who doesn’t, Sanchez, the boy is looking a much better player and a good understanding is developing between that first choice CB pairing. It should be acknowledged that Dier is also a leader, like Pierre and Toby and suddenly that defence is looking much tighter and much better marshalled than it was before.
