Video Evidence: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the interceptions and more…

By The Boy -

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s path to Tottenham looks beset with problems on all sides. That said, if Carlo Ancelotti were to offer Southampton the full asking price in cash, then it is unlikely the player (who was recently stripped of his captaincy for his less than ‘on message’ remarks) would trot along quietly to Goodison Park.

This montage of clips show the 24-year-old’s ability to win the ball back, and one can’t but help believe that this class of player, teamed up with Giovani Lo Celso would be a distinct asset.

It’s pretty damning that Spurs look so uncomfortable in pursuit of such a modestly priced player, but this the direction ENIC took us in…

It’s Catch-22, we need major investment in players but we don’t have the money to spend. Sherlock Holmes would have trouble solving this problem. Mourinho got his eyes opened this week, he said as much in his press conference. It’s sad when your team, the team you’d have given your right arm to play for quits on the field. Only blessing is there was no crowd to see it, because I know what the reaction of our away fans would have been. Sad week.

Can’t remember but I think banarama were up there in the good old days! I was lucky enough to support Spurs back in the 80’s (when I too was in my prime!) when we brought real talent into the club, players that were guaranteed to improve us, and trophies were a regular occurrence back then. Now we have to put up with owners that want to do nothing more than screw every last penny out of supporters without putting anything back in. ENIC are parasites and Levy is a rogue trader.

The narrative is Hojbjerg wants to come to Spurs but I don’t think it’s such a clear cut decision. Ancelotti is starting to turn things around at Everton, and the owners don’t mind dipping their hands in their pockets.

It’s been like it ever since ENIC and Levy were in charge which is why we never win anything – the squad is never strong enough in depth. Too many bang average players because Levy won’t pay the money. The evidence in indisputable. Levy doesn’t buy quality but buys cheap, and always players that nobody else wants. If another club comes in then he moves on to some other player. Or he buys nothing at all which is when the current rot first set in. He’s a time waster. Funny how he works hard to extract every last penny out of supporters though isn’t it?
I recall the 80’s when we used to buy the best going and regularly won trophies.

If we miss out and Hojbjerg goes to Everton the one player I do not want to hear we are signing is Gyllfi Siggurdson who will be surplus to requirements at Everton. He is no defensive midfielder, he has no mobility he can’t go box to box and he has no pace. If he comes to Spurs then I know we’re in a bigger mess than we are in at the moment. Back Jose Daniel, get Hojbjerg in and show other teams the rebuild begins now.

Hard to get exact details, but he left Spurs on a free and signed a permanent four year deal and Spurs get fifty percent of any future transfer fee.

Nope. Option to buy and 50% sell on thing. If Jose promises him ex amount of games he’ll come home. Oh and on more wages than winks. Them two at the lamex you wouldn’t even notice winks. My grandson certainly didn’t. Marcus was memorising, his feet had the boy in a trance🌚

Him and his bredrin Sancho gonna be running things for England in the next world cup. Marcus can control a football better than Sancho. Much more ability. I hope he comes home one day. His back was fkd at Norwich that’s why that didn’t work out

I would like him to come home, But the better he does the more he is worth. Good to see Poch sent him overseas since he couldn’t get his &hit together out on loan in England. Made him into a man, but he hates him anyway. Levy will sell him to the highest bidder, hope not. Mini Messi please come home to Camden or N17 at least.

This is the reason we’re going downhill fast – Levy’s insane penny pinching. The little imbecile doesn’t seem to have the brains to understand that if you invest in top quality players then you get CL football which repays your investment multiple times over. But buy cheap from lower table and relegated clubs and you will over time make the team into one of those clubs – we’re well on our way to mediocrity. It’s not rocket science is it?
