Video Evidence: Our Unsung Superstars’ 49-Minutes Of Brilliance On Sunday

By The Boy -

Spurs sucked, Tottenham were turgid. Even worse opinions passed my lips watching us lose by 2 goals to nil on Sunday. Thankfully the Token Bird rescued me from my misery, and we nipped out for pizza. It saved the mood.

But if we’re to look for other positives, beyond Lo Celso’s tenacity, then Tanguy Ndombele was the one. For me, Tanguy’s performance was exceptional. A 92% successful passing accuracy, 70% of duels won – and here are the Frenchman’s 100% dribbling success – what a star.

The game is 90 minutes and he can’t seem to get through an hour, flashes are not enough, he’s a worry.

He provides a few flashes of pure quality and he has a fast mind that moves the ball quickly. Yet I am not sure despite his improvement that he has the physical endurance for the EPL. When I look at him sometimes his body language looks like a player who would rather be somewhere else and I think if a club like Barcelona comes in for him he will jump at the opportunity to leave. I don’t think he wants to run around chasing back and defending and he prefers more time on the ball and more space which he may get in La Liga. I think also he has a difficult temperament to manage and perhaps his ego is too big to work alongside Jose’s. We need a couple of Curtis Jones type players in our midfield set up. Young, athletic with fast feet and bags of energy.

Having reserved judgment on both Lo Celso and Ndombele was Tanguy’s performance that exceptional?? If we sold him and recruited a quality creative midfielder I’d be far happier!!

Completely outplayed and devoid of inspiration we looked liked a team against the Foxes that once you snuff out the threat of both Kane and Son there is no Plan B!!!!

Reguilon played reasonably well, had a better day better than most of the team for me.

We looked like a team that just lost the champions league final again, should have won the game, been great all season, small margins. The great thing is we haven’t been properly beaten this season. Errors and learning curves but what’s there is something special.

No one shone on Sunday and i must admit his contribution passed me by. It begs the question why did he get hooked at half time? Yes Jose had to chsnge things but there were worse offenders.
