Video Evidence: Latest Spurs Target Looks To Me Like A Sissoko/Ndombele Hybrid

According to PrimerTempō, there are a number of sides interested in Zenit St Petersburg’s Wilmar Barrios, including Tottenham and Newcastle United. The 27-year-old is thought to be Spurs’ shortlist of players to replace the sainted Moussa Sissoko.

Watching the tape above, this kid strikes me as a Sissoko and Ndombele Hybrid. I would have nor problems in signing this guy at all. Although I might insist he brings a different audio track with him.

Can’t Jose and his staff coach Tanguy to do that job? He’s athletic as well as being skillful, where are all these defensive midfielders going to fit in?

From the little I’ve seen of him playing for Columbia he’s more like Granit Xhaka than Sissoko/Ndombele. A red card waiting to happen and not much output in the final third. I think we need better than him if we’re going to improve the team.

Sissy/Ndombele hybrid is probably the most pressing gap in the squad right now as Sissy is getting on a bit and shouldn’t be expected to keep playing every game this and esp next season…

The spot next to Hjobjerg is so important – get an equally reliable player in there and we’re cooking on gas

Mind you I seem to recall thinking at the time we could do with somebody like him with a bit of fight.

I believe so following the world cup.I seem to think his disciplinary record is none too clever. In fact wasn’t he sent off agai nst England after getting involved in a ruck involving one or two of our players.
