And the autopsy went ever onwards, and into the night...
Here’s the foul that Jürgen Klopp and his entire entourage took so very personally. I’ve seen a lot of sliding tackles go wrong in my time and that was simply mistimed. The hysterics from the Liverpool technical area were noted by Mourinho, who felt that with regret, he needed to pull the Argentinian before the officials were unduly influenced.
José was quoted in The Sun (amongst many) as saying that the decision was forced upon him. Which makes sense when you see that it would have been obvious that Giovani has one of the few Spurs players having a good game.
Define good? Well, as with Bergwijn, his passing accuracy was noticeably better than many at 68%.
Lo Celso recovered the ball 5 times, and on 3 occasions that was in the Liverpool half.
In his 59-minutes on the green stuff, Giovani also made a couple of handy interceptions.
Now, I’m not presenting any of this to you as earth shattering, rather pointing out that he was a nuisance to Klopp, and it’s a pity the German was reduced to cheating to nullify the threat.
Amen!
We’re not even attacking teams properly yet and we’re right up there. You wait till the backs locked off properly. We gonna attack the fck out of teams and when we do lose it anywhere on the pitch it won’t be a problem. Trust José.
Klopp got nothing on José. He never had pool top in his first full season. It took him ages to get his team to play this way. Fck him
José will let them off the leash once they learn the defensive aspects of the game and how to play without the ball and to counter efficiently.
Even allowing for the media w*nkfest, he did turn Liverpool into European champions, World champions, Premier League champions and current league leaders with half their defence missing. So in spite of being possessed of a set of teeth like the Osmonds on steroids and facial hair like an overgrown ferret, he is doing something right!
The wheels are coming off? We conceded a late draw to Palace thanks to a very uncharacteristic mistake by Hugo and almost perfectly executed a win away at the League Champions, with a 64 game unbeaten home record. Unfortunately and again uncharacteristically squandering some gilt-edged chances to do so and conceding a 90th minute goal when one of our players was fouled in the build up.
Mourinho has the players at his disposal that he has. If some are not good enough (and I agree with you that some aren’t, e.g. Sanchez, Winks, Fernandes) it is not because he is ignoring better players, it’s because they have been found wanting and is a fair reflection of the true depth and quality of the squad. Now, if you really want to follow a team with the wheels coming off, go and support Arsenal!
I have never bought in to the media W’fest over the nutty professor.
Makes me sick so I turn off if he is on the few times I watch fussball
The wheels are coming off??? Still in 2nd for now and will be in top 4 and in with a shot at the title. In the last 8 of the Carabao Cup and last 32 of Europa League, and the FA cup to come. Yeah, its a real disaster!!!
The problem was he made the tackle with his favoured left leg instead of his right leg, which would have won the ball, gain possession and critically would not have resulted in a yellow card.
Well spotted I wish I could remember the Liverpool player who made the same tackle on Aurier I think 10 mins later and wasn’t booked
He’s a class player. It wasn’t a bad foul either. The wheels are coming off because Tottenham have become predictable and because some of the players the manager prefers are not good enough to succeed at the highest level. Mourinho must take responsibility for persisting in his decisions and supporters who know football and Tottenham must make their own minds up about players formation or tactics and so on ……..? It’s the strongest squad Tottenham have ever had in the Premiership.
