Spurs didn’t have to weather much in the way of direct threats on goal from Villa, perhaps in part, this was down to Nuno switching from his previously favoured 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1. Certainly, Pierre Hojbjerg had an outstanding game, and Oliver Skipp performed moderately well, alongside the Dane.
Hugo was a part of the long ball game that Nuno likes to indulge in, as was Eric Dier. Hugo’s overall long passing accuracy was 89%.
It’s worth noting that both players produced key passes for Spurs on Sunday, so I would expect to see more of this as the season progresses.
