This is precisely what one expects from a defensive midfielder. Ndombele’s high passing accuracy and the desire to power the plays forwards were impressive. 94% is where we want players to be,
These examples of dribbling really encapsulate the drive Tanguy can bring to his game. The man is a very gifted beast.
When it comes to being a defensive midfielder, Tanguy is a pretty attack-minded one. Harry Winks, kindly take note.
I am still to join the Ndom love in, but he did look impressive in the first half. More consistency is needed. He can’t just do well v the bottom teams whilst looking anonymous v better opposition. His fitness is poor still. Every time he is tackled he takes an age to get up.
Clearly talented, but nowhere near commanding or dominating midfield and dragging us over the line.
He’s been pretty hit or miss, when he’s good he’s unplayable but lacking consistency at the moment.
We need the missing piece of the jigsaw….the player to dovetail with Ndombele and Hojbjerg and improve the performance of both of those two.
Skipp will be in rotation next year but I don’t think he should be first choice option in the way Hojbjerg (and maybe Ndombele) are/should be.
I still believe that Ndombele’s impact on the game dips most second halves…either as part of a general malaise throughout the side he can’t influence or his energy dip is one of the reasons we start to drop a gear or two as a collective. Chicken or the egg, not sure which comes first.
Still finding his way and hopefully with a more secure back line behind him come the summer and with more midfield help he’ll get better and better.
Tanguy is the real deal and no mistake. He has a very high ceiling as they say in basket ball circles.
Appreciate the stats. In my opinion he doesn’t create much of anything. Earns himself a free kick, gets up groggily. Rinse and repeat.
Is he a creator, a goal scorer, a defensive minded player. Maybe I’m alone, I just don’t see it.
