Video Evidence: 7 Key Passes From Spurs Frontman Is Frankly Exceptional

By The Boy -

You know when you’ve played a rank average team – there are the obvious signs such as putting 4 past them – then there are the less obvious ones, like an attacking player having 93% passing accuracy. Heung-Min Son’s average in that discipline is 83.3%, which is respectable, but to jump by 10% is a red, or perhaps claret, flag.

Sonny had a heck of a game generally, with 100% success in long passes, 100% success in through passes, and 100% success in back passes. Just two misplaced passes all game is exceptional.

The cherry on Son’s Burnley cake were the 7 key passes; Son is a world-class player – but make no mistake – Burnley had the welcome mat out.

So, we’re selling him then! Barnes from Leicester would be a great buy. Not for us, because Levy won’t spend £50m on him. We’ll get some North Korean who won the U/18 Most Improved Player in the SE Asia Cup.

He has looked knackered in the last few weeks. He has made errors that were not in his game for months. The penalties and sloppy passing are an effect of Jose not having the trust in anyone else to do the job.

Win the Europa League and/or finish top 4 and he might stay for next season.

Would be interested to see hojbjerg stats as I felt he had a average game for his standards, a lot of backwards passing

Burnley are a little bit toothless due to injuries. I mean, if we struggle with injuries you cannot blame Burnley for looking like a bunch of no-marks when they start falling over like dominoes. I am not a fan of Dyche’s tactics, but he gets the most of what he has, which is remarkable when they are a collection of well drilled, fit championship players. Yesterday, they were lucky to get nil and we should have got more.

Poor Son just can’t seem to get a break in front of goal. Kane too for that matter. They have both missed quite a few cast iron chances this season, ones I would expect them both to score. Still, they are pretty damn special players aren’t they?
