Tottenham are reportedly one of two options that Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana would prefer to pursue this summer.
Spurs have been without first-choice shot-stopper Hugo Lloris at times this season due to injury, while Michel Vorm’s current deal expires at the end of the season.
Lloris also came under fire in midweek for his display against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, as he may feel as though he could have done better on the first two goals he conceded.
Jose Mourinho could, in turn, be eyeing a reinforcement in that department of his squad ahead of next season, and as per the Daily Mail, Tottenham are touted as one of Onana’s preferences along with Chelsea as he eyes a switch to the Premier League.
It’s added in the report that Hakim Ziyech could sway the 23-year-old towards Stamford Bridge ahead of his move to join the Blues this summer, while the Cameroon international could cost between £40m-£50m.
It remains to be seen who comes out on top if there is a transfer battle over Onana, while it’s unclear at this stage how influential Ziyech could be in his decision-making process if he does indeed also seal an exit from Ajax this summer.
Keeping Loris seems probable with Jose demanding at least four new players anyway.
To be fair he at least got us an assist in the semi last year…. He’s not up to it not even close, and as is said below if there is a bidding situation of any kind, I wouldn’t worry about it anyway
Very similar to Lloris in his pomp.
Had to swap out the video – the original wasn’t working. Apologies for the delay.
Is he actually all that and as you say right for the Prem? Secondly, Levy will keep Hugo until he’s about 36 if he’s happy to stay. Being proactive in the transfer market isn’t what he does…
LOVE SPURS – HATE ENIC
I don’t know whether there should be a video within this article, but I watched one.Half the shots were fired straight at him,a lot he fumbles the ball and he parries a lotback into the penalty area.No thanks.
It will be nothing to do with Ziyech. It boils down to the price and if Chelsea want him, they will get him. Any way, he is far too expensive for the cheapskate charlatan and I agree with the previous contributor about his questionable abilities.
I must be in a minority here.Whenever I have seen this guy,and it’s not too often,I have thought he is suspect. He has looked nervous under pressure and doesn’t command his area which is vital in the PL.My advice would be don’t waste the money, there are better choices out there and for much less money.
