Two-Footed, Versatile, Quick: The Unconventional Kane Cover Spurs Could Get For £4.5m | video

Six years later and Tottenham are still looking for a decent cover for Harry Kane.

The prospect of playing second fiddle to the England striker deters most decent targets, so we’ve had to be unconventional in finding Kane support; cheap imports, grizzled veterans, square pegs from within the squad.

But nothing as unconventional as a central midfielder who can also play upfront…

Introducing Mohammed Kudus; a 19-year-old playing for Denmark’s FC Nordsjaelland. Foot Mercarto understands that Spurs are one of several clubs looking at the Ghanaian prodigy ahead of the summer.

Here are some highlights of his 2019-20 season…

As you can see from the clip, Kudus flits frequent from being a ball-carrying midfielder and a genuine number nine. According to transfermarkt.com, he’s played in each position an equal nine times this campaign and has scored five goals as a midfielder and four as an attacker.

Two-footed, versatile, and quick, Kudus represents an intriguing prospect who could be of use across midfield and the forward line.

The best bit, at least from Daniel Levy’s perspective: Gazzetta Dello Sport report that he could be available for less than £4.5m. Bargain.

Might be a bargain, might be another N’Koudou or N’jie.
