Twice In One Season: Spurs Pull Off Rare Feat Against Cherries

By The Boy -

Last night was a landmark game in many ways. For one, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Spurs so united in their views, that the team were hopeless and close to being without any redeeming features. The perhaps least appealing aspect was our inability to get a single shot on target. And this against a side that were teed up to ship their 60th of the season.

The last time Tottenham were this inept in front of goal, it was against Chelsea who beat us 2-0 on 22.12.19. Those keen eyed amongst you will notice that Chelsea are going to be playing European football next season, whereas Bournemouth are looking nailed on to be a Championship side.

Harry Kane heat map vs Bournemouth

One obvious concern is Harry Kane. The 27-yrs-old looks beyond off the pace, and his heat map looks like he dropped a contact lens at kick off and spent the rest of the game looking for it.

Over the course of the day, we’ll look through all our players, it’s not like Harry Kane cost us a win last night, but he doesn’t look world class these days.

Cyril Knowles, Chris Hughton & Gareth Bale were all great attacking players that did their day job. Robertson & AA ate very good but i would rather have Gary Neville & Stuart Pearce with Waddle , Eddie Gray or George Best up top. Another thing Marwood not fit to tie Waddles laces but who won the title. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I detest wing backs, give me full backs and wingers who know how to cross any day. You can make exceptions if they are as skillful as Liverpools. When a wing back (Aurier& Davies) fails with his delivery,he is in the wrong end of the pitch to defend a counter attack and this is something happening every game.

What’s new? I sat in the pub around Christmas expecting to see a slaughter of the turkeys from Norwich and I thought Madrid were playing instead in a green & yellow strip.
Look I know it is very small comfort but apart from Sheffield the GA is very good which I expected from JM (but not at the expense of turning attack into shat of course).
I’m with you shipmates can’t wait for 2050/51.

I wont blmae Kane, its like blaming your waiter because the burger you ordered was actually just a bun. Yes teh waiter plays a role in the checking provcess, but he doesnt have a final say in what goes out. Kane may have some level of blame for not playing like Messi, but really, he needs to be in his own half to get the ball as Jose prefers 10 at the back.

Like i said yesterday, what is the point of playing as a striker if you get F all service. How have we become reliant on two fullbacks who can’t cross and most of the time refuse to cross the ball. Zero goals from zero chances, you do the math.
