Truth About Those Latest Lo Celso & Sessegnon Updates

By The Boy -

This week saw fans get short-changed, yet again by the club.

The Evening Standard were fed the line that Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso were back in training.

‘Double Boost!’ screamed Dan Kilpatrick’.

This disingenuous guff was aggregated endlessly by all the usual suspects. It is of note that Spurs’ website and social feeds all opted to swerve the tale. Primarily, because this situation almost certainly echoed the same problems they faced when Erik Lamela was ‘back in training’ – producing footage would be problematic.

No need for tinfoil hat jibes, just facts.

With Giovani Lo Celso, the player had been struck down with a groin/hip/pelvic injury.

On September 10th, the club told Physioroom: “He will now undergo a period of rehabilitation and is expected to return to training with the first team towards the end of October.”

It beggars belief that the Argentine would ever be match fit in time for Watford.

With Ryan Sessegnon, the club told Physioroom Sept 17: “Undergoing assessment after reporting irritation with previous hamstring injury.” Even less chance of being match ready for this Saturday’s game.

The first truth is in. Kilpatrick has now admitted Sessegnon won’t feature in any capacity.

It will be a miracle if Lo Celso is on the bench, this weekend.

Metaphorically shooting the messenger isn’t the solution, however tempting that thought might be.

This ‘back in training’ cobblers only emerged after the Balague piece for the BBC reminded everyone that Levy had bought a pair of crocks.

It also came after Levy’s comments to the Supporter’s Trust about spending went down like a lead balloon.

Again, the quality of reportage emanating from THFC’s tame press monkeys has been woeful.

You’re right about the squad being the most valuable ever.. But so is everybody elses too, there is loads more money in the game now compared to ten years ago, never mind twenty years when baldy took over

In pochs tenure we’ve had the most valuable squad we’ve ever had. (Close to the most valuable in the world) so this net spend thing…

Press conferences are a waste of time. As is analysing anything that comes out of them.

What is Poch meant to say? This collective of cunts are shit and will have me out ofa job before Christmas so I hope I can spunk 300 million on transfers in Jan if Im still here?

We have the best manager for working under Enic since they tookover and now people want to sack him and bring in another unproven twatsack?

Press conferences are for people who read the Sun etc surely the Harry Hotspur blog is above such things as we are high browed cultured folk.

I might have been wrong…but I guessed the fact Liverpool would win almost 2months before they did, and that they wouldn’t face city. I actually thought would be Ajax instead of us though.

Incredible things happen in sport (and life). Why was it supposed to be a city barca final? Have you ever thought you might be wrong? Good luck trying to turn your back on football.

I believe the only teams that have a lower NET spend are 2 of the promoted teams.

I am on the verge of it mate – trust me. I wasn’t on board really until last season, when we called it so early and a collection of incredible results made it happen. Last season was supposed to be a City Barca final.

Poch is obviously still either convinced that Levy will come good over the ‘rebuild’ or he’s pretending and playing along until he replaces Ole at the Manure.

January will tell us a lot, if there’s some activity such as more Argies incoming in or players that Poch clearly wants and some of the dead wood out then he could well be staying put.

By the way, we sit in 8th, which is about where we should be given ENIC’s expenditure. 7th highest wage bill and one of the lowest net spends in the league over Poch’s tenure.

Even 10th, given what he’s done with us before is clearly not a sackable offence under Levy. So he’s one place under budget expectations? Big fucking deal…

Let’s sack Poch and get someone who can get us to the heady heights of 6th?! Ohhh I’m so excited!

If I thought the way you thought I’d never go to another football match. I’d pack it all in. Non league only.

this season they could do a full team rotation each game and win the league. Me and Gazza called last seasons title winners and CL winners from as early as when City started to be investigated by UEFA. this season Liverpool are getting repaid for allowing the title/CL switch. I don’t think UEFA will let an English team win the CL again, so it will probably go to Juve this year.

see in the press that Liverpool have significantly more rest than City over Christmas – talk about adding weight to the theory the title is Liverpools by “divine” intervention.

The complete turnaround is extraordinary. After his comments about January fixings he could only have received an E mail from Levy saying….”errrr, you do know I’m not giving out funds for any players in January don’t you?”
Each approaching window the next big of bollx is fed to the fans. It’s never going to change, I’ve lost count of the windows it’s gone on.
Poch will keep talking until the end. That’s what the contract stipulated.

Danny Boy has 2 options:
Back him or sack him. He won’t sack him because the way football deals work is that you give ‘successful’ managers/players long contracts which guarantee they’re paid, even if they don’t produce. No motivation to improve/try if the cash is always coming in but that’s a different issue.
If he wants to pull the trigger, it’ll cost him 30 Mil, allegedly. Then there’s the outlay of a new man & his sidekicks etc. It all get very expensive very quickly.
He won’t back him either, as history has proved. So where does that leave us? In total limbo.
There is no way that DL will ever totally back any manager but Poch has known that for a couple of years & still signed a lucrative contract last year. He can’t complain really & he won’t quit.
However, some of his ramblings at press conferences can’t just be down to a different language. Unfortunately, the press are on his case constantly, having a sly dig at his working conditions, DL’s tight control of the purse strings, how have we got so rubbish so quickly etc.
Nothing will happen in January but Poch needs to realise that even if he said that we need a few new faces it would be better that churning out the same old crap that the players we have are good enough.
They’re obviously not Poch! As Brian Conley used to say ‘It’s a puppet’. Replace Conley with DL & it’s the same show.
As I said, in total limbo. I can see the table at the end of the season –
we’ll be 8th or 9th, if we’re lucky & the other so-called inferior teams, Wet Spam, Leicester, etc will all be above us. Marvellous.

Utd will have the guts to get rid of Ole & will get
Allegri (?) in so who’s left for us? Simone? We need a strong manager
Eddie How isn’t our man.

I am really starting to struggle with does he mean this drivel or is he covering? Is this incompetence or press management? I said when we lost to Leicester – Spurs needed to win the next 3 league games or we are in trouble. We won 1, lost 1 and 1 left. Spurs need to win against Watford – I would argue by a large margin – and then actually beat Liverpool or we may as well admit that we are fighting for top 4 and actually losing. the games after Liverpool (Bayern away aside) should ALL be considered winnable, and should result in a streak of not losing…Honestly think anything less will see either a dead January window (with Levy taking not backing the manager 1 step further) or Poch simply not being here.
