Transfer stand off|Callum Wilson vs Josh King

By The Boy -

Jackson Cole for talkSPORT believes that Tottenham are in talks with Bournemouth – for striker Josh King – which might indicate that negotiations for Callum Wilson drew a blank.

Alternatively, this could be a less than honest piece, designed to fill the void until Spurs have sold players in order to stump up the cash required to afford a player to compliment Harry Kane. Whilst my understanding is that terms were agreed between Wilson and Spurs, that’s a million miles away from a done deal, if the funds aren’t in place to get the transfer done.

Using the WhoScored? player comparison function, there’s really very little between Callum and Josh, in fact, it inly serves to highlight the mediocrity of these two relegated front-men. One would hope that any striker would benefit from having superior players supplying them with better quality balls. That said, it didn’t seem to make a jot of difference for Roberto Soldado or Vincent Janssen!

I’m confident we’ll be good. Not worried at all. Just need couple in. We’ll get what we need. I bet you’re more worried than José🌚

First episode is a cringey puff piece. Second episode is a big improvement and i’m halfway through the third.

Jose is clearly the new Roger Mellie ..

Do you honesty think after 20 years he don’t know what he’s doing? Manager gives him name of player. He looks at how much we can pay (sets his limit) then goes to work. He won’t go over his limit. Big limits now though. N€w lan€. Tuff times now though as you know

Danny Murphy on TalkSport said its not his cup of tea. It’s all contrived and sanitised and it bears no relation to what really goes on on the training ground and in the dressing room.

No Cheese Room. I have done the the tour and it is impressive. It is home to Perth’s 2 AFL clubs. Lots of bars and food outlets but the biggest bar in Perth is outside the stadium at the Camfield – about 3000 people. No fast pour pints though.

To be fair who have we signed for more the £15m who has done anything noteworthy in Spurs shirt?

Total cost was 1.6 billion AUD – the stadium costing around 800 million with the balance being on transport and other infrastructure upgrades. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ran over budget. It took around 3 years to build. Seats 60000 for AFL but another 5,000 drop-in pitchside seats can be used for football, rugby and rugby league games

Apparently they’re still in negotiations.
OK we are getting players in,but not of the quality we really need.
They’re most likely to make us very hard to beat if Jose gets his system in place, but it will not likely be pleasing on the eye.
We really need a proper playmaker in the centre as well as LB,CB and striker.

If Donny van de big beek is utd bound, maybe they don’t need Grealish ?

I’m going to put my reputation as an esteemed football poster on the line here and say that Gedson will turn out to be a better player than Beeker. Mark my words, you heard it here first folks.

When Oreo gets sold and the net spent realigns with ENIC’s all or nothing policy (cough) surely there must be enough to spend 30m on a striker!

Van de Beek was someone we should’ve gone out to get…Chelsea keep spending….winning the league is a million miles away from the furthest star in the galaxy…

Chelsea are going all out as will ManU….if these players click we will struggle getting top 4..

Eddie – FYI we have technically moved players on so its not as good as it seems…Atmos, KWP, Rose (will go), Jan & Vorm….Levy has only spent around 15m at the moment and that will be recouped by Oreo

How many times have you seen the headline, “Spurs make last minute dash to hijack the transfer of Carlos Kickaball to thwart ?????” It’s part of Levy’s pathetic playbook to gee up the fans . £15 mill is our maximum price now.

The gap widens. Man Utd sign the Ajax kid for 45 million which we apparently tried to hijack with a 4.5 million pound bid plus Aurier. Surprisingly it failed. But As Levy states in the much awaited All or Nothing (so its nothing then) video it’s so hard pretending to run a football club when you are a property developer.

Looks great. Have they got a cheese room or is it only the amber nectar on sale there?

Just like van der Beek, although I suspect that was a shot across Utd’s bows to gee them up with negotiations. No way were we spending 40M on him.

On a slightly related note, Perth’s Optus Stadium has been voted the most beautiful in the world in 2020. Very sexy. Although I should point out, it doesn’t have a Cheese Room either.comment image comment image

Yes, we are the only club in world football who only has one striker! We were the only club in European football to go two transfer windows without signing a player. Let’s console ourselves with the fact that we are the eighth richest club in the world with the best facilities.

Hopefully we’ll do what we do on most “transfer rumours” and miss out on them both. I’ll be happy with that as neither bring what we need.

On a sort of unrelated note Harvey White put in a killer ball for Eric Dier against Birmingham. It was the best set piece I’ve seen from a Spurs player in years! It was so good Dier made a mess of it as he is not accustomed to such quality. Our attackers could do with seeing with a big improvement in our set pieces.

Can’t wait to see how this one pans out. Probably won’t end well for Spurs unless we dodge both bullets.

Sold!? Soiled more likely. Can’t even give them away if the story about Aurier to Wolves is true. Although it was Aurier who declined the move, probably to save himself the embarrassment of hearing the howls of derisive laughter coming from Molineaux at the suggestion.

Plus, Josh King is Norwegian and we have our full quota of non UK players unless someone is sold!
