Transfer expert claims Tottenham star is not enjoying himself at the club – could leave in the summer

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham’s summer signing, Ivan Perisic, is reportedly not enjoying life at the club, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.

The Croatian international was signed on a free transfer by Antonio Conte at the start of the season, following their successful partnership at Inter Milan.

However, with Conte’s departure, Perisic’s future at Tottenham has become uncertain, and there are suggestions that he could be eyeing a return to Italy, with Inter Milan as a potential destination.

Perisic has made 39 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing 11 assists.

Despite his decent performances, Jones believes he has had an inconsistent season.

He also doubts that he is enjoying himself at the club. Jones suggested that Perisic may want to leave Tottenham because nothing he was promised has been delivered, and the man who took him there, Antonio Conte, is no longer the manager.

Discussing Perisic’s future at the club, Jones told GiveMeSport:

“From a player’s point of view, you can understand if he did want to leave.

“In terms of ambition at the club, nothing he was promised has been delivered, and the man who took him there in Antonio Conte is no longer the manager.

“His form hasn’t been consistent, and I doubt he’s really enjoying it.”

A recent report from Inter Live claimed that Tottenham could use Perisic to make a swap deal with Inter Milan for their long-time target Stefan de Vrij.

If Spurs can pull off this deal, it would be an excellent piece of business for them, as it would solve a major problem in defense.

Perisic has had a successful career in Italy, where he won multiple trophies with Inter Milan, and it is understandable that he may be considering a return to his former club.
