Tottenham’s official Twitter account brutally trolls Arsenal ahead of their Champions League return

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham’s official Twitter account couldn’t help but troll Arsenal ahead of their first Champions League match tonight.

Spurs face Marseille in Europe’s top club competition after edging Arsenal to fourth place in dramatic fashion last season, with Mikel Arteta’s side instead competing in the Europa League.

Tottenham tweeted three seemingly innocuous words alongside a picture of the Champions League logo ahead of their match: ‘We’re back baby.’

But it soon became clear that there was more to Tottenham’s not-so-innocent Tweet than first appeared, with the comment delighting Tottenham fans and enraging Arsenal supporters in equal measure.

An ad for BT Sport’s Europa League coverage had gone viral the day before, with Spurs fans relentlessly mocking Aaron Ramsdale for saying – you guessed it – ‘We’re back baby.’

Arsenal were without European competition last season and will face FC Zurich, Bodo/Glimt, and PSV on Thursday nights in the group stages of this year’s tournament.

Tottenham’s glee extends to the club’s social media team, which mimicked Ramsdale’s words just hours before kick-off against Marseille to delight their fans and remind Arsenal of their season-ending collapse.

I am no right wing swivel eyed loon (nor left) but I have wondered that for some time.
But there again I have wondered why 90% of adverts on tv feature a black actor if I were Asian or Chinese I would be seeking answers.

It has zero business at a football match. I hope those feigning outrage ask as many questions about the World Cup…

It seems there was trouble at the end of the match last night.Things could get tasty over there in the return leg.
Apparently a pride flag was pulled down, wtf is that doing at a football ground?

It’s a risky policy on social media as these things always seem to come back and bite a person/company in the bum.A point being a Liz Truss tweet in 2017 I think where she bigged up Jimmy Saville.Pizza was mentioned which was also allegedly a code used by Epstein.

Not sure why this would have been intended as a direct wind up. Bit silly…
