Tottenham youngster completes transfer to Championship club

By Bruce Grove -

Stoke City has confirmed the loan signing of Jack Clarke from Tottenham for the rest of the season.

Clarke wasn’t allowed to leave Tottenham on loan in the last transfer window after he struggled at Leeds United and QPR in the previous campaign.

The club chose to keep him so he could train with the likes of Harry Kane and Gareth Bale.

Despite making his debut in October last year, he hasn’t seen so much senior team football.

Spurs have now decided to allow him to leave them on loan again for the rest of this season.

Several teams wanted to sign him, but the ambitious Potters managed to convince Tottenham and the player that joining them would be best for him.

Their manager, Michael O’Neill was happy to have landed his man and told the club’s website: “Jack is an exciting young wide player who will bring an added dimension to our resources for the remainder of the season.”

Stoke is looking to make a return to the Premier League, and they have also signed Rabbi Matondo and Rhys Norrington-Davies this month.

Clarke is heading straight to their first-team training, it is unknown if their game against Blackburn tomorrow will be his first match for them.

O’Neill is a good man management coach. The Northern Ireland players thought highly of him. So no excuses for Jack.
