Tottenham would sign a “machine” if Nuno Santo can land this target

Tottenham has been linked with a move for Conor Coady in this transfer window and former Scotland manager, Alex McLeish, has labelled him a machine.

The former Liverpool academy star has made a name for himself at Wolves after helping them gain promotion back into the Premier League and becoming a mainstay in the competition.

He thrived under Nuno Espirito Santo at Molineux and now that the Portuguese manager has moved to Spurs, he has been tipped to follow his former boss.

Football Insider revealed earlier that Tottenham has resumed talks with Wolves to add the defender to their squad.

Spurs’ busy summer means that they could eventually add him to their squad before this transfer window shuts.

McLeish is excited at the prospect of the England international lining up for the Lilywhites and he says Spurs would get a very experienced player if they eventually complete his transfer.

“Coady’s been around and he has had great experience,” McLeish told Football Insider.

“So I don’t think there are any problems at all with Coady coming to the club. He will bring his own style and identity to the club. He’s a machine.

“Nuno had him for that period of time and he really grew into a top player with that manager.

“It’s only normal practice when you see a manager come back for one of his old charges. He’s at the peak of his powers, is Coady. For me, that is a good signing.

“It’s a manager he trusts, respects and he loves, and vice versa the manager to him.”

Barcelona isnt run as a business ,it is fan owned per say ,the rich Catalunyians will take it out of debt easily. To spend 120% of income is impossible ,you spend 100% of whatever you get in and 20% from shareholders or loans. But the club is run to make money so they can get good footballers and provide awesome football for the fans. It isnt a business nor do they proclaim it is

It’s sad tbh. Vilifying Kane for taking the Chairman at his word isn’t right in my view. Wish Harry the best and feel for everyone who thinks ENIC are anything positive for the club.

Seems like PSG are favourites if a deal was to happen.

Now that would funny if Kane lost out to Messi….”I love you Spurs, I never wanted to leave, it was my brother…honest”…..

The weekly wage would smash even what Bale was on if City took him due to taxes alone,
though Harry might be twitching at the moment.

This is one of the reasons Barca and Real Madrid are still pushing for the Euro Super League.

Barcelona’s debt is staggering over a billion pounds and they are paying 120% of their income in wages. Simply unsustainable.

Chuck him in as a freebie in the Tanganga deal.

Don’t know the ins and outs regarding the financial matters, but there has to be a saturation point in what a player can earn, when clubs are using virtually all their income on wages, the madness has to stop.

I think Barcelona would have had to make savings of £200 million to keep Messi and stay within the Spanish Leagues financial rules. Barcelona have been trying to pressurise La Liga to relax those rules. La Liga might not want to lose its biggest star and TV draw. Maybe there is a game being played here.

Messi released by Barcelona. That could be bad news for Harry’s move.

Captain Dier is going nowhere.

I like him, gives 100%, loyal to Nuno, good in the dressing room, solid no-nonsense defender with plenty of experience.

Straight swap for Sanchez or Dier I’d bite their arm off!

Not keen , he was terrible last season for wolves, use the Kane money and sign koulibaly from Napoli,he is going for 30 mill, give him high wages ,the rest on a creative mid and young striker ,maybe RB as well

Most likely Son to begin with. Further down the line who knows, but generally attacking players are the most popular because goals scored are more sexy than goals saved.

Aurier is such an unpredictable player, on his good days he’s brilliant and on others he loses us the game with unforced errors. Shame he can’t be more consistent.

Who is gonna be the star to sell most of Spurs merchandise? to be a big club you need a world class player who that might be after Kane any guesses can it be Coady, Romero, Ndombele, Son, Locelso, Lloris,Dier, Winks,Moura,or may be the great sissy and Hojbjerg.

Its depressing when I was pleased to see Aurier come on yesterday as one of our best players, how the standards have dropped!!

He’s 28 but we can’t always buy kids with potential especially for CB. I like this guy, he’s a good player and would be good for the dressing room. He and Romero could form something special.

Unless he can be bought for a real bargain price, surely his age wouldn’t fit THFC ‘policy?’

We’ve already got a few “machines”, all badly in need of oiling and replacement parts.
