Tottenham will be heading to South Korea for their summer tour

By Eddie Razo -

The summertime is still months away, but Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced where they’ll be touring to help prepare for the 2022-23 season. Spurs will be heading to South Korea this summer in what will be their first tour since 2019.

Spurs will partake in two exhibition matches in the Coupang Play Series, organized and promoted by Pitch International and Coupang – dates, opponents, venues, and how fans can watch to be announced.

Along with playing in a couple of friendly matches, Tottenham plans to engage with its Korean fans, support good causes, celebrate local culture, and deliver its renowned Global Football Development program.

The north London club’s visit to South Korea marks the fourth trip to the Asian continent since 2015. Spurs want to continue growing their brand and fanbase in the area.

Tottenham Hotspur is presently the most-watched and best-supported overseas club in South Korea, considering they are home to two of its marquee players, Heung-Min Son and So-hyun Cho. Both players are the captains of their respective national teams.

Exactly.. Levy focusing on plastic fans. The moment Son comes out and says he wants out just like Bale, Modric and more recently Kane, all those Korean fans will go puff just like that. Whilst doing his outmost to alienate all us fans who have pretty much given up on Sprus. Hence we are here venting our frustrations.

What was the tour a few years back that players said left them exhausted – cant remember USA or maybe Hong Kong I would rather see a nice little Amsterdam tournament with little travel or time difference but I see the club logic if we have 2 national heroes.

That South Korean support, what do you think will happen to it when Son and Cho leave Spurs?

If you want to build the clubs fanbase worldwide invest in quality players for the team, it’s not rocket science.

Enic obviously consider this area being more important to them than the home based fans with Son seen as the perfect star billing to attract more Asian fans. Probably the real reason why Son signed his new contract with the club with maybe percentage earnings from sales of club products added to that, shame though his form on the pitch is not reaching previous high levels, but enic won’t worry about that, and maybe him also.
