Tottenham have been linked with a move for Mike Maignan of Lille as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in competition for Hugo Lloris.
Le10Sports claims that Mourinho has a very high opinion of the French international and wants him to come in as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Lloris is still very much around at Spurs and is not expected to be leaving the club this summer.
However, he is not getting any younger, and the club is already planning for the future.
Maignan has been at Lille for the last two seasons and the former PSG trainee might be ready to test himself elsewhere.
Lille have shown a willingness to cash in on any of their players when the right offer comes and they have just signed Orestis Karnezis from Napoli which might signal that they are prepared to lose Maignan.
The report claims that Spurs aren’t the only English team looking to sign him, with Chelsea also targeting him as a replacement for the under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Mourinho will want to win a trophy for Spurs next season, and he knows that having a very capable goalie as the backup to Lloris will be key, should the Frenchman get injured along the way.

I think that Gazza is a capable replacement for an injured Hugo.
