Tottenham wants £20 million striker to partner Harry Kane next season

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham wants to sign Danny Ings and partner him with Harry Kane next season, according to The Telegraph.

Ings has entered the last year of his current deal at Southampton and he has made it clear to the Saints that he will not sign a new contract with them.

The Premier League club will now look to cash in on him otherwise he would walk for free after next season.

He is currently valued at £20 million and the report says Nuno Espirito Santo is looking to add him to his squad ahead of the new season.

The former Wolves boss wants to play with a two-man attack and he believes that Ings and Kane would do well together.

Kane has asked to leave Tottenham, but the club is confident that he will stay because no club can meet their asking price for his signature and they are now planning for life with him in their squad.

Ings has been a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and he has shown that in stints at Burnley, Liverpool and Southampton.

He now wants another go at a top club after his injury-plagued time at Liverpool and Tottenham can provide him with the perfect platform.

On top of that is there anyone thinking that Ings wants to sit on bench for Kane? I doubt he wants that.

I remember this spout when Bale left. 7 players were joining to play WITH Bale. Just Levy trying to avoid teams putting an extra 10m on as we would be without a senior striker IMO

Ings wants Champions League. Not sure that Europa Conference is where he wants to be, Kane or no Kane.

It’s been reported that Utd have dropped their interest in Kane. Having bought Sancho for 70 mill, they have baulked at Levy’s asking price of 150 mill for him which I don’t believe anyone will pay. I see that we are having as much success in the transfer market as we had of appointing a top class manager to succeed Mourinho. If you believe any of the hot air emanating from the Spurs PR machine and fed to the MM, we had agreed terms with Sevilla for Kounde with Sanchez going in p/x, but the player didn’t fancy us, can’t imagine why! Then it appears that we have been linked with Skriniar again but he prefers to remain at Inter to defend their league title. There is a familiar ring to all this. I wonder if we had any scouts at the Copa America? I have just finished watching the final which was a great game and gave Argentina their first title since 1993 in a major title. Romero of Argentina was an outstanding centre back the entire tournament. and is only 23 yrs old. He is currently on loan at Atalanta from Juve and might be available at around €20 mill. He’s a steal. Over to you Levy and your revamped management team but I won’t hold my breath. As an aside, Messi is now a free agent. Pity Keith Burkinshaw isn’t the manager now.

I’ll bite…Danny Ings to partner Harry Kane at Spurs. Harry Kane won’t be at Spurs, but you keep up the good work

nonsense headline.

Would be a good addition if Kane stays or Leaves… but unless Levy has changed his ways… this is the sort of player he can’t sell 5 years later at a markup (and so wouldn’t go for).

Would be a useful addition to the squad at an eminently affordable price. I’d be pleased if this happens.
