Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.

The 23-year-old Japanese winger has impressed with his performances in La Liga and Tottenham are keen on securing his signature. They will have to face competition from Liverpool and Bayern Munich for his services as well.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham have identified him as a ‘key piece’ as they look to reinforce their squad. They will have to pay a premium to secure his signature, and the player has a release clause of €60 million (£50m) in his contract.

The 23-year-old can operate as a right-sided winger as well as a central attacking midfielder. His versatility will be a bonus for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. The player will add creativity and goals to the side.

Kubo is likely to improve with coaching and experience, and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham in the Premier League. Regular football in England could help him improve further. The opportunity to move to the Premier League can be quite exciting for the player, and the 23-year-old will look to test himself in English football with Tottenham. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

The North London club will have to plug the gaps in their squad if they want to fight for major trophies regularly. Adding more depth to the side should be one of their priorities. They will look to do well in multiple competitions and they need a deeper squad.

Kubo has the physicality and technical attributes to thrive in English and Ange Postecoglou could bring out the best in him. It remains to be seen whether Spurs are ready to trigger his exit clause in the coming months. They have the finances to get the deal done.
