Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for the Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, the Spanish club are yet to receive an offer from any club for the Japanese international, but they have had enquiries from Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool.
It will be interesting to see if the Premier League clubs follow up on their interest with an offer to sign the player. The Japanese international has a contract until 2029, and he has a €60 million release clause in his contract.
The report states that Tottenham wants to sign the 23-year-old winger and they plan to make an offer for him in the near future. They could certainly use more depth in the final third and the Japanese international is versatile enough to operate on both flanks. He has the quality to succeed in the Premier League and he could be a key player for North London club in the coming seasons.
Kubo has picked up seven goals and five assists in all competitions past season and he could improve the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool as well.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can win the race for signature. They will be hoping to challenge for domestic trophies next season and they will also look to secure Champions League qualification. Signing someone like Kubo will certainly help them in the final third and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
Manchester United and Liverpool have the financial muscle to get the deal done as well, and they could use attacking reinforcements this summer. Players like Antony and Jadon Sancho have been quite underwhelming and Manchester United need more options in the wide areas.
As for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are the only natural wingers at the club and they need more depth in that department. Furthermore, Diaz has been linked with a move away from the club and Salah has entered the final year of his contract. It will be interesting to see where the 23-year-old Japanese international ends up.
