Tottenham urged to replace Bale with one of these forwards

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs welcomed the quality of Gareth Bale last season when he joined them on loan from Real Madrid.

The Welshman had struggled for a playing time in Madrid and the loan deal was needed to keep him in shape.

He had an indifferent time in London featuring less often under Jose Mourinho and enjoying more freedom when the Special One was sacked and replaced by Ryan Mason on an interim basis.

He has since returned to Spain and will likely not join Spurs again after Zinedine Zidane left his post as the manager of Madrid.

The Express has listed four players that Tottenham could sign now to replace the Welshman if he doesn’t come back.

The report says Marcel Sabitzer is available for transfer after deciding not to extend his stay with RB Leipzig in Germany. Spurs have been targeting a move for him.

LAFC’s Uruguayan forward, Diego Rossi, is another name that the Express urged Spurs to make a move for after he starred for the Los Angeles side in the MLS last season.

Marcus Thuram is another player the report says Spurs can bring in to help replace Bale.

They have reportedly already opened talks with Borussia Monchengladbach about signing him.

Wilfried Zaha is the last name on the list with the report claiming Spurs bid could be boosted by the fact that Zaha has already asked Crystal Palace to sell him this summer.

Forget Phillips, firstly he’s Leeds through and through, I don’t expect him to be pushing to leave just yet, plus he is now subject to the England hype-machine and so his price doubled last week.

Sabitzer, Phillips and my ambitious move would have been DePaul
, but I heard Depaul is on the move. Zaha, my God Bruce did you need to include that part of the article. Zaha is a wasted talent. Spend more time on his backside arguing with the officials. He has been on his way to Spurs for so many years. Even if he was walking he would have reached by this.

Know exactly what you mean James. I’m convinced that the current mess is a deliberate contrivance to confuse, infuriate and then flatten to a level of apathy the energy/interest of supporters-to the point where they almost become grateful for any decision no matter how absurd. What a dark web is being spun and yet here I am on this platform ever hopeful!

I think I have got to the stage where if it was announced Lionel Messi was signing for Tottenham I’d hardly care.
