Tottenham told to double their offer for Serie A star

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham made an offer of 20m euros for the signature of Mikkel Damsgaard, but his club, Sampdoria has rejected it.

The Dane was one of the stars of Euro 2020 and several clubs want to sign him.

Spurs know they have serious competition in the race for his signature and they have moved to steal a march on the others.

La Repubblica via Tuttomercatoweb says the Italians turned their offer down and are holding out for 40m euros before they will sell him.

This effectively means that Tottenham would have to double their offer to get their man.

The 21-year-old scored two goals at the Euros including a stunning free-kick against England in the semi-finals.

His performance in the competition shows that he can thrive in the Premier League, but Tottenham is facing serious competition in their bid to sign him.

The report claims that Juventus also wants him and that could be a problem for the Lilywhites.

The Old Lady are accustomed to signing the top players from other Serie A clubs and they would offer him a sure path towards winning trophies if he moves there.

Most players, however, dream of competing in the Premier League and that could be an advantage for Tottenham.

Same old story from the barrow-boy Levy. Penny-wise and pound foolish. He really must be despised by the other clubs.

40 mill for Damsgaard is probably too much but why make a derisory bid that Levy knows they won’t accept? All it manages to achieve is to put the back up of the selling club. We all know that you have to negotiate in the market but this is yet another example as to how we are hated by other clubs. Some will say who cares and what does it matter but it does because you are trying to buy a player to improve your team, not haggling in a second hand bookstore.

Or maybe Winks plus 45m Euros… We may have to pay them to take Winks off our hands seeing that it looks like no one else wants him. 😂

We technically do not need another mid unless we there are out going. It would be worth while to pursue Lautoro Martinez. We need goals.

We should be pursuing the arse*** targets. 35 mil for Locatelli and 65-70 for the next Aguero in Martinez. Logically that’s keeping Kane as we can make that in dead weight, but it will only happen if he’s off

It’s as if they think Levy is going to have a lot more cash in the bank soon.
