Tottenham To Be Offered Eriksen Sweetener By Juventus – Not Dybala

By Joe Fish -

Tottenham Hotspur may be given the chance to shift Christian Eriksen and sign Adrien Rabiot in one January deal, according to Le10Sport.

The report from France, via The Mirror, understands that Juventus will swoop for the Eriksen in the New Year and that manager Maurizio Sarri would be willing to offer Rabiot to Spurs as a sweetener in any deal.

The 24-year-old midfielder only joined Juventus in the summer but has been unable to break into the team, making just three Serie A appearances.

That is not a damning indictment on the player’s ability as the Italian champions are blessed with the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and ex-Gooner Aaron Ramsey in this area of the park.

Spurs are less fortunate, with Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama having regressed badly over the 18 months to leave us without a genuine holding midfielder to complement Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele.

While not as exciting a swap option as Paulo Dybala would be, the Rabiot deal would probably still appeal to Spurs as they aim to salvage any value from losing Eriksen six months from the end of his contract in London.
