Tottenham is one of the teams looking to sign Juventus centre back, Merih Demiral as they continue their bid to shore up their defence.
The Lilywhites spent much of last summer looking for a new centre back and were desperate to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.
They couldn’t reach an agreement with the Italians and they signed Joe Rodon from Swansea instead.
Not signing a top-quality centre back is a decision that they will regret now, considering how poor their current options have been.
They plan to fix that problem in the summer and want Demiral to join them.
Tuttojuve says several Premier League teams want the Turkey international and Spurs are one of them.
The 23-year-old has been at Juve since 2019, but he is yet to fully establish himself at the Allianz Stadium.
Injuries and competition for a place have combined to see him play less often than he would want.
Nevertheless, he remains highly rated and Spurs faces competition from the likes of Liverpool and Everton for his signature.
He is one player that Juve considers an important part of their future, but everyone has a price and Spurs can make them an offer that would be hard to refuse.
Not only do we need defenders who can defend well but also defenders who can handle the press well and be able to pass their way out of it. We seem to give the ball away so often when pressed high. Southampton caused us problems this way in our recent game and of course City created numerous chances against us using the high press in the League Cup final.
Better to sign a manager first and then get the players they want instead of arse about face. Then again, we have Levy…
I’m sure he’s only chomping at the bit to join Tottenham
Make him Captain!!!!!
Everyone has a price and then there is Levy’s price.
I’ll believe that when he holds up a Spurs shirt.
