Tottenham target valued at £16m wants a move to the Premier League

By Bruce Grove -

If Tottenham is serious about landing Amiens striker, Serhou Guirassy, then they have been handed a boost as Sky Sports claims that the striker wants a Premier League move.

He has emerged as one of the most sought-after strikers in France this season after his club was relegated from the French top flight.

Tottenham is targeting him as the Lilywhites look for a striker that will act as a backup to the reliable Harry Kane.

Kane has been the club’s number one striker and that will remain so, however, the Lilywhites have struggled when he has been injured or not available to play and they want to fix that.

Guirassy is eligible to play for France and Guinea and he scored nine goals and provided one assist in 23 French Ligue 1 games last season.

Tottenham isn’t the only team that is interested in the striker with the report claiming that West Ham is also monitoring his situation and Rennes, who will play in the Champions League in the coming campaign, is also interested in signing him.

The report, however, claims that the striker has set his sight on a move to the Premier League which will be good news for Tottenham.

It adds that a bid of around £16m will be enough to sign him.

I suspect he is often told to jog on. More polite terms of course.. Players are still moving for big bucks. And Scrooge turns up counting his copper coins..

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking that way of shopping. It’s just if you’re trying to cook a meal, and you have a recipe, you want certain ingredients, not just the ones that were on offer.

Yes exactly. It’s like going to a supermarket but ignoring your list and only buying stuff from the “out of date soon” aisle.

Relegated, French league, 15 million, and I never heard of the geezer, so this sounds about right…. Gone are the days of Levy bagging gems like Edgar Davids and Van der Vaart.. Used to love transfer windows. Now with the madness of extra fake news on social media, plus spurs neverending incompetence, each and every window is like a recurring nightmare now….. If we sell aurier and don’t buy a right back or two. And if we fail to get a striker in then we will struggle yet again.. Rose, Trippier and Vertongen all need replacing. Worrying times indeed looking at our previous transfer activity.

So whats being said then is that Levy, due to the pandemic and financial struggles clubs will be facing, has a plain to wait till the very last minute of the transfer window, one could say even waiting by a fax machine, and strike (excuse the pun) that killer deal at the last second…wow, i’m all up for that…I’m liking this new Levy

Take Milik for example, there’s talk about Juve signing him for £30m, but if they don’t, what then?

If no ones comes up with an offer – because they don’t have the cash – we’ll get to the last week of the window and Napoli could be desperate to sell. They could accept £15-20m at that point. Of course, it’s possible that a club does come in before then and in which case, we’ll miss out. But I think what’s happening is that we’re establishing a few strikers that we could sign, and then sitting tight, waiting for the price to come down.

In theory we’ll get to the end of the window and someone will crack.

That’s the strategy, like it or not. That’s what Levy does. We might not get the player the manager really wants, you might not get him until the window shuts, but you will get a discount.

We’re not serious about signing a striker – until maybe the last day of the window.

When many clubs are facing bankruptcy and looking to sell anyone just to stay afloat. That’s when Levy will strike.
