Tottenham sends officials to watch Turkish starlets as Antonio Conte eyes Leicester star

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur needs to upgrade both their wing-back positions, and the north London club is reportedly sending out some scouts to look at two possible targets to fill the left wing-back position.

According to Turkish journalist Salim Manav, Tottenham and Atalanta officials will watch Eren Elmali and Ridvan Yilmaz in the Beşiktaş-Kasimpaşa match this Monday. Both players are left-backs, so it seems Spurs want an in-person look to see if their qualities can translate to a wing-back.

Both players are in their early 20s, with Elmali appearing in 29 matches this season for Kasımpaşa, scoring zero goals and recording three assists, and is under contract until 2025. Meanwhile, Yilmaz has scored three goals and registered four assists in 24 appearances, and his deal runs out next year.

Another player that Spurs are eyeing whose deal expires in 2023 is Youri Tielemans. According to The Sun, Tottenham is keen on acquiring the 24-year-old’s services but will likely need to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Spurs face a challenging task for the Belgium international, with Manchester United and Arsenal also expressing interest in the midfielder. However, should Tottenham clinch a top-four finish, it likely gives them the upper hand over their two rivals.

Tielemans has appeared in 42 appearances this season, scoring seven goals and recording three assists. The Sun adds that he fits the profile of a player Spurs have looked to sign, given his age and potential for resale value.

Hadn’t thought of the Brighton fella..I suspect Potter and Co will be reluctant to sell and will want a decent price..which rules us out.

Spurs new players have sparkled against some poor opposition..I wonder if it’s worth waiting re Kulu..Brighton mage him disappear.
Tielemans isn’t coming to Spurs there will be other CL suitors from other leagues ..and possibly the EPL..while we still have to qualify.

Why go to Turkey, wouldn’t it be better to look at proven LW/Bs already in the EPL.

According to media outlets,Conte is to speak with Levy as a matter of urgency, and present him with a list of 6 players he wants to compete properly.
I doubt that list includes young boys who have just started wearing football boots. We need ready made fighters and he knows this.
Kane is also quoted as saying he will see the level of ambition shown by Levy before he decides on his future. How long does he intend to give him faced with Levy’s heel dragging in the market?
Even with CL qualification,Levy still has the ability to mess up this situatio and we know the outcome of that. The summer could be very messy.

Starlets my arse. More like more Jack Clarke’s. Will we ever learn or just keep right on repeating the same mistakes ie buying cheap, fatty mince instead of steak.
