Tottenham risk losing star man if a new contract is not sorted soon reckons pundit

By Bruce Grove -

One of the key players for Tottenham in this impressive start to the season is Son Heung-min.

The South Korean has been one of Tottenham’s key men even before this campaign, but he is now even more effective as he has scored 9 Premier League goals in as many games.

His fine form has made him a player that deserves a new deal and the club knows it, they have plans to hand him one soon.

There have been talks of him getting a new long-term contract that would be worth around £200,000-a-week.

He hasn’t officially signed the new deal yet, and no one knows if the terms are acceptable to him considering his fine start to the campaign.

Danny Mills thinks Spurs should make signing him onto a new deal a matter of urgency, and he claims that if they don’t get him on a new agreement, they might lose an excellent player.

He told Football Insider: “He’s an exceptional player.

“When you go back to that period when Kane was injured and he was carrying Spurs, scoring all the goals.

“It’s not easy at times when he goes away on international duty and he’s had to deal with issues around national service.

“He’s an outstanding player, he’s absolutely magnificent the way that he plays. He’s so consistent he’s one of the first names on the team sheet.

“His energy levels are superb, his fitness levels are absolutely brilliant. He’s a humble guy, he’s the model pro. Everybody wants a Son in your team for what he offers.

“I’m pretty sure his contract will be sorted very soon because if it’s not Tottenham stand to lose an exceptionally talented player.”

Pay Sonny what he’s worth and he’ll go nowhere. We MUST learn from the Eriksen mistake.

Danny Mills is a typical Man City spokesperson in the football media so everything he says about players at competitor clubs should be seen as advancing the MCFC agenda, until proven otherwise.

It’s just like Merson with Arsenal, Neville with MUFC, Carragher with Liverpool etc etc.

If Alan Sugar had penned this article I would be asking why.

If Danny Mills pens it: until proven otherwise, see it as scurrilous claptrap seeking to create mayhem.

Son loves Spurs, the fans love Son, everybody admires Son whom I am convinced is here for the long term. Spurs is Son’s spiritual home. The only caveat is if Kane leaves possibly changing complexion of things!!

THFC gave him the chance to avoid national service during his playing career too – something Bayer Leverkusen refused to do by not releasing him 4 years earlier.
Maybe I’m being silly, but I feel like he would appreciate that.
But, my god, pay the boy top dollar (for spurs)

Son is contracted to 2023 & clearly loves THFC so not sure why Danny Mills thinks they’ll lose him?
