Tottenham receive boost after quality Premier League star hints at departure

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish after the Englishman admitted that he wasn’t sure if he would play for his current team next season.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Grealish (Football London) for some time now.

Grealish has been the leading light for Villa for years, and he helped them get promoted to the Premier League last season.

Their return to the English top-flight hasn’t been a positive one, as they have been struggling with relegation as the season nears its end.

They beat Arsenal 1-0 last night (it’s ok to laugh). That result was an important one in their bid to beat the drop and the Englishman was asked about his future yet again, after the game.

He insisted that all he wants at the moment is to ensure that his team doesn’t get relegated from the Premier League this season before he added that he doesn’t know if he would be playing for Villa again next season.

Asked about whether it was his final game at Villa Park, Grealish told Sky Sports via Football London: “I’m not sure to at the moment. I have one aim and that’s to keep the club in the Premier League. That’s all I’m thinking about at the moment and that’s all I can think of.”

That is as close as you will get for any player confirming he will leave his present club. Grealish, in my opinion, is leaving Aston Villa this summer and it is now down to whatever club will pay the money that Villa demand.

I suspect they will do what Crystal Palace did with Wilfried Zaha and slap a ridiculous valuation on him, however, if Grealish is insistent, as I think he will be, then I would not be surprised to see him go around the £40 million mark.

That is a figure Tottenham could afford if they make sales and I for one, would love to see Grealish at the Tottenham stadium next season.

That said, if the 24-year-old goes for something like £80 million then there is absolutely no chance he will set up camp in North London.

No way would Levy contemplate that sort of money. He’s convinced himself we’re skint and nobody will talk him out of it including Jose. It’s our usual diet of cheap junk food this window.

Well we could do 1-2 players in the £20m’s so the only way we could get him is
A. Sell Ndombele or a big name such as Alli
B. Man U don’t want him

chances 10.739%

He was valued at 80 mil before the lockdown. Reports are Manure are going for him now.. Its sad but unfortunately that boat has sailed. He will go to a top club for top wages.. Levy doesn’t do bidding wars, especially with the likes of United.
