This is the worst performance from an Arsenal gaffer in several generations and even as Spurs tumble their way out yet another managerial metamorphosis, we still have Arsenal to smirk at; a once dominating force reduced to nothing very much.
It is now 4 years in a row that the once-upon-a-time invincible Arsenal have finished beneath the almost but not quite Tottingham.
This is lined up to be the worst Premier League finish for the Gunners in 25 years.
The cold hard facts are, that Arsenal is now as relevant as West Ham.
One more to go, then…
Re. the trophy cabinet – no it cost too much.
Yes let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s only 4 years of better positions considering their previous 15 odd years of domination over us.As Mikey points out below they could get the FA cup and a place in Europe.
I’ve not been to the new mall, did Levy even include a trophy cabinet?
Yeah, the words schadenfreude and hubris spring to mind.
Good grief are we really that small time that all we can do is laugh at the south London nomads who have just beaten Bindip/Citeh and are in the FA Cup Final.
We have our own stuff to work out in the coming days.
It just proves that it can be very hard to get back to the top if you slip down the League, Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all struggled to get there.
Arteta and Mourinho are in similar positions. They both need backing by their frugal chairmen. Both need to sell a lot of dead wood. I think it will be easier for Mourinho to get players to fit his system than Arteta. I may not be too enamoured over Dier extending his contract, but at least we don’t have Sideshow Bob and Bad Muzzy.
Regrettably, this is true.
Missing: Joe Lewis was last seen heading for the Bermuda Triangle in his 1b dollar yacht when a reporter allegadly asked him about his thoughts on the removal of FFP….
I enjoy nothing more than kicking a gooner but the fact remains that they could still end up with a trophy and a place in Europe. So I think we should put the celebrations on hold for a bit.
