Tottenham ‘ready to negotiate’ January deal for former Chelsea man – Ange Postecoglou wants him

By Mehdi Gokal -

Recent reports have linked Tottenham Hotspur with a potential move for Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior, as the 20-year-old seeks regular playing time away from the Serie A giants.

Despite his talent, Iling-Junior has seen limited action this season, featuring for only 113 minutes for Juventus.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Iling-Junior’s departure from Juventus during the January transfer window is ‘very likely,’ with Tottenham among the main contenders to sign him. And as per Il Bianconero, Tottenham are ‘first and foremost’ in race to sign him and will have no problem paying his asking price.

Juventus too will be keen on selling him since it is reported that manager Massimiliano Allegri wants to sign Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul and his arrival could be dependent on the sale of the winger.

Tottenham’s ongoing injury crisis, sidelining key players like Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, and Richarlison, has prompted the club to explore options to bolster their attack, in particular the left-side.

And according to Tuttosport, ‘Ange Postecoglou has identified’ Iling-Junior as an ideal addition to the squad.

The same report also claims that Spurs are ‘ready to negotiate’  a deal with Juventus for the former Chelsea academy graduate.

Iling-Junior is under contract with Juventus until 2025, potentially making him available at an agreeable price for Tottenham in January.

TBH Says:

With both Solomon and Perisic out with long-term injuries and Richarlison struggling both on and off the pitch, it is evident that Tottenham need more quality in attack.

The addition of a young talent like Iling-Junior could offer crucial depth and quality to Tottenham’s attacking lineup, particularly on the left flank.

It will be interesting to see what plans Spurs have for the January window with the depleted squad requiring bolstering in multiple positions.
