Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Eric Garcia from Barcelona.

The 24-year-old has played in the Premier League in the past with Manchester City and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bring him back. He was offered to Tottenham in January.

According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham are closely monitoring his contract situation, and he will be a free agent next summer. He could be available for a reasonable amount of money in the coming months, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Garcia is capable of operating as a central defender as well as a defensive midfielder. His versatility could be an added bonus if Tottenham manage to get the deal done.

Signing a player of his quality on a reasonable deal could prove to be a masterstroke. He has been described as a “great player” by Hansi Flick.

Tottenham will be hoping to fight for trophies next season and secure European qualification as well. They need a deeper squad with more quality and players like Garcia could be worth their weight in gold.

The Spaniard knows the league well and he could settle in quickly and make an instant impact at the north London club if the move goes through.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.

The 24-year-old is still quite young, and he could improve further with coaching and experience. He could be a useful player for Tottenham in the long term.

Garcia has struggled for regular game time at the Spanish club, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can promise him ample first-team football. He is likely to seek gametime assurance before making the move.

He won the Premier League during his time at Manchester City and he has won the La Liga with Barcelona as well. His winning experience could prove to be vital for Spurs.
