Tottenham may have landed major target if they had acted sooner

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs pursued Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar all summer, but they ultimately failed to land the Slovakian defender before the transfer window closed.

They will have to sign another centre back from England now before this local transfer window shuts.

However, they might have signed the defender if their late attempt to land him in that transfer window had come earlier, according to FC Inter news.

The defender is no longer as important to the Italian side as he was previously and the Italians were willing to let him leave them.

The report claims that PSG made a late attempt to land him on a season-long loan deal for 2 million euros with the option to purchase him for 40 million euros.

This offer wasn’t far off from what Tottenham had proposed to the Italians and the report claims that if Spur’s offer had reached Inter earlier with enough time for them to sort out a replacement, they might have listened to it.

Spurs will now have to wait until next summer to try to sign him again, at the moment, they have turned their attention to Swansea’s Joe Rodon.

Both teams are still in talks and they have until the 16th of October to get it sorted.

These transfer window misses rarely get revisited in my experience.
