Tottenham make ‘eleventh hour’ move for midfielder, using 23-yr-old to convince target

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens.

The midfielder is a target for Spanish giants Barcelona as well but a report from Fotboll Direkt claims that the North London club have come in at the ‘eleventh hour’ and they are using Dejan Kulusevski to persuade the 17-year-old to join them.

The 23-year-old daughter winger was present when the Swedish midfielder met up with Tottenham in London earlier, and he is hoping to convince his compatriot to join him in the Premier League.

Previously we covered reports that Tottenham have promised him a first-team role as well. It will be interesting to see if they can convince the midfield prodigy to move to Barcelona and join them instead.

Tottenham will certainly hope that Kulusevski can tip the scales in their favour and help them complete the transfer.

A move to the Premier League will certainly be an exciting step up for the young midfielder and the promise of the first team role could be quite tempting. It will be interesting to see what he decides.

Bergvall is highly rated around Europe and he has a big future ahead of him. He is a prodigious talent and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right coaching and guidance.

If the North London club manage to sign him for a reasonable price, the move could prove to be a solid future investment for them.
