Tottenham looking at signing another defender from a relegated Premier League side

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham’s transfer window has been an active one with the Lilywhites now making signings on a regular basis.

They started by completing their move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.

They followed that up with the free signing of Joe Hart after he was let go by Burnley.

They have also just signed Matt Doherty from Wolves who is expected to replace Serge Aurier as the club’s right-back.

That deal will not be the last one that Spurs conduct in this transfer window with The Express claiming that they have made Watford’s Pervis Estupinan another target of theirs for this transfer window.

The Ecuadorian has yet to make an appearance for the relegated Hornets as he has spent a majority of his time at the club out on loan.

He has, however, been impressive while out on loan and he is now considered one of the finest young full-backs in Europe.

The report claims that Spurs have been tracking Estupinan for some time now and this transfer window might be when they make their move for him.

The 22-year-old has one cap for his country and he spent last season on loan at Osasuna.

He is currently valued at 15 million euros according to transfermarkt.com.
