Tottenham is one of three prominent clubs chasing 22-year-old La Liga star

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been named as one of three clubs that are closest to completing a transfer for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

The Frenchman has been one of the best defenders in La Liga in the last year because of his performances for Sevilla.

He made the France squad for Euro 2020 and might have played his last match for Sevilla.

He has attracted the attention of most of Europe’s top clubs, but Estadio Deportivo says Manchester United, Real Madrid and Spurs are the clubs who will likely sign him this summer.

The defence has been a longstanding problem at Tottenham and it was one reason they faltered in their bid to win the Premier League or finish inside the top four last season.

They wanted to sign Milan Skriniar last summer but were forced to settle for Joe Rodon, who didn’t improve the defence.

Kounde has helped Sevilla compete in the Champions League as well as for the La Liga title and he would be an upgrade to most of the defenders currently at the Tottenham Stadium.

The report says Tottenham is prepared to open the bidding at 50m euros although this amount might fall short of what Sevilla wants with the Spaniards targeting 60m or 70m euros.

Happens all the time. Spurs have been granted permission to speak to the player. Price gets done AFTER player is happy due to the abolition of slavery ☺️

Hey gang, so re: Takehiro Tomiyasu. Pardon my ignorance, but can someone explain to me how we can agree personal terms with a player, and not have yet agreed a fee with the club. Is this not tapping up?

Genuine question.

The new spin Enic/Levy you will hear till the end of the summer window is like this: Paratici loves (player), Paratici will pursue personally, Paratici this Paratici that, the other line Nuno agreed(player) Nuno wants to speak, Nuno called, Nuno given the green light Nuno this Nuno that like they have(Paratici&Nuno)any power to buy or sell any player Levy will never run out puppets and scape goats and series of Enic/Levy continues. enjoy your summer window excitements while it lasts.

THFC used to be prominent. Levy has destroyed that.

The first player mentioned whom Spurs are chasing that I do not see Arsenal name mentioned. Seems like mediocre is a disease, if we are finishing in the same shallow ponds as they guys on the road.

The only thing that Levy is chasing is a minimum spend.

Wanting to sign quality players is admirable. We were playing regularly in the Champins League when Levy wrapped gorilla tape around his wallet. Now we’re in the Europa Conference League.
Let’s see how this pans out.
