Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to add another striker to their ranks and they have identified the Swedish international Stefanos Tzimas as an option.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are interested in signing the 18-year-old striker and he’s likely to cost around £15 million. The striker has done quite well in the second division of the Bundesliga with FC Nurnberg.
The 18-year-old has six goals and an assist in 10 league appearances this season. He is reportedly a target for Newcastle United as well and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
The reported asking price is affordable for both English clubs and they have the financial resources to get the deal across the line. Tottenham need more depth in the attack and signing the 18-year-old could prove to be a solid long-term investment. They have signed Dominic Solanke at the start of the season, but they need more depth in that area. The 18-year-old could be an understudy to the England international and help share the goalscoring burden.
He is highly rated across Europe and Tottenham could help him develop into a key player for the club in the long term. Meanwhile, Newcastle need an alternative to Alexander Isak as well. They have been overly dependent on the Swedish international and the need to add more cover to the side.
Tzimas could prove to be a solid acquisition for £15 million, and the move could even look like a bargain in the long term. If the English club can help him fulfil his tremendous potential. Regular football in England could accelerate his development.
It remains to be seen whether the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle decide to step up the pursuit of the player and submit an official offer for him. The striker will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining them.
